Although this painting is very muted, I love the light and shadow contrasts. I have discovered a wonderful color, Grumbachers 'Davy's Gray' Of course, many may already know of this, it's new to me and I love the variations I can achieve with it. It's like a neutral color to me.

Darn It's A Snow Day and I'm Alone - Palette Knife Painting by American Artist, Judy Mackey

"Darn It's a Snow Day and I'm Alone"

6" x  6", Oil on Board

So, last week we had 100 hours of below freezing temperatures here in North Texas!  So it started with a pair of feet sticking out of the bed sort of painting and when they started to announce school, businesses, and office closings, this little idea popped into my head....what if you had found yourself stuck in you house but didn't have anyone over that would have shared the snuggly moments in the morning, you'd be saying "Darn!"

Oh these wintery mornings, to be snuggled in bed with someone you love, hit the snooze button and savor the few remaining minutes under the warm covers....

All of the snow news of this past month had given me the idea of this painting and the song...
OK, can feet be a part of figurative - I think it is.  Pushing the envelope a little bit, I know.

I hope you like it.  It's available for purchase here and on my website, www.JudyMackey.com

If you like my work, I hope you will refer me to your friends - thank you.
