"Left Behind" - Abstracted Figurative Painting, by Arizona Artist, Sharon Sieben

This Figurative painting below started out as an abstract work on a 30" x 24" canvas. After a while, I pulled it out and decided to paint over it. I typically can see faces and figures in abstract works; and here is what I found hiding in this one.

Another Cold Wax Oil Painting by Arizona Artist, Sharon Sieben

At first this technique (coldwax and oil layers) was bewildering.  But it quickly reached a love/hate stage; and from there I'm beginning to warm up to the medium.

This is a 24" x 24" on a 1.5 deep wood panel.  I varnished the edges to keep the natural wood visible.

BTW I don't have a title for this.  Any ideas?

"Sympatico" - Expressionist Njde painting by Arizona Artist, Sharon Sieben

Sometimes it's good to just let spontaneity run the show!  I can define this as a mixed media because I'm not sure I remember what I used.  I know there is acrylic pigment here, perhaps ink, Maybe a charcoal mark of so, who knows what else.  It's on 20" x 16" paper.

I had done this pose a couple of times before in acrylic and oil with more planning and care; but seemed to have fun doing this one.  I might even like it better!  The second image is one of the previous renderings.
